Marisa Sherk
Teacher / Choreographer
Marisa is a dancer, teacher and choreographer born and raised in St.Catharines, Ontario. She started her dance journey at the age of 3 with tap and jazz and has since trained extensively in a variety of styles including jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, modern and partnering.

Marisa is a 2025 graduate of the BFA Performance Dance Program at Toronto Metropolitan University. During her four years in the program, she performed works by Raoul Wilke, Alysa Pires, Esie Mensah, Francesa Chudnoff, Hanna Kiel and Ryan Lee.
Prior to University, Marisa spent eleven years as a competitive dancer and three years in a Ballet Professional Training Program. Throughout her competitive career, she received a multitude of top awards, scholarships and titles at the regional, national and international levels. Marisa was titled 1st Runner-Up ‘America’s Female Dancer of the Year’ at the American Dance Awards Nationals in both 2021 (Boston) and 2022 (Florida). Some other accomplishments include winning First Place Pas De Deux at the Youth America Grand Prix and being titled ‘Teen Miss Bedazzled 2018.’ Marisa also received a Gold and Bronze medal while competing on Team Canada’s ballet, modern and jazz teams in Poland at the IDO World Championships.
Marisa’s stage credits include lead roles in The Nutcracker, Cinderella, the opening number for Canada’s Walk of Fame, Dance Ontario’s Weekend and Toronto Kids Fashion Week.
